Hello, my Lovelies!
I’m Georgina (that’s my formal name, especially when I answer the phone or find myself in a bit of trouble). But as we get to know each other, you can call me Georgie!

I’m a true romantic at heart, but don’t mistake that for being stuffy or dull. My platinum blonde streak might make you think otherwise, but I’m far from boring. As a proud mum of four incredible boys, I’m a sports-loving, car-enthusiast who enjoys life in North Queensland, often found in thongs (the shoe kind!) and shorts.

According to my husband, I’m known to shed a tear at the slightest provocation—be it a film, TV show, or even a touching commercial. This emotional side of me means that every couple I work with becomes like family. Yes, I might just follow your adventures on social media long after your ceremony—you’re not getting rid of me that easily!

How I Became a Celebrant
Becoming a celebrant in the stunning Whitsundays wasn’t part of my initial career plan. It was my husband who first suggested the idea. Amidst discussions about our future—while we were well into our forties—I considered changing careers and starting my own business. While options like bookkeeping, real estate, or utilising my Post Grad Degree in adult education were all on the table, none felt quite right.

Then came the suggestion: “What about a celebrant?” It was unexpected, but as the family’s go-to public speaker and a self-confessed fan of sappy movies and wedding dress reality shows, it made perfect sense. After much pondering and research, the decision was clear.

Yes! Being a celebrant was my calling.

The journey to becoming an Authorised Marriage Celebrant took a year of study, culminating just as Covid hit in 2020. It was a challenge, but it only strengthened my passion for this career. It’s not just a job; each couple offers an opportunity to connect with new people, learn their stories, and become part of their journey. It may sound mushy, but that’s the truth.
